We don't splurge on lavish gifts on my mum (waste of money as she will keep the stuffs we bought for her instead of using or wearing them lol) so we bring her out for a good lavish dinner. It is also a family gathering for us too.
My mum's not feeling well since earlier this year, so its home cooked meals this Sunday, woohoo!
Honestly, just having someone else cook is usually good enough for me 🙂 Sorry your mom hasn't been feeling too well.
