January through March were some of the worst months in our house. I don’t know what happened, but one bug came in and it just wouldn’t leave. Cycling through the kids and yes even the parent. Our record for good health was being blown out of the water. I needed an action plan.
Come April, we finally all began feeling better. We started the month by heading out of the house and out of town. We needed to celebrate our good health, and let whatever may have been lurking in the home time to really go away.
I stripped the beds of their sheets before we left, and cleaned out all the leftovers and any food that could go bad before we left. I spent the night before our vacation cleaning off every surface in our kitchen – determined not to let anything sit and fester.
We’d come home to aired out beds, a sparkling kitchen, and a fridge ready to be filled with good quality foods.
Day 1 of returning home I knew I’d have to be on top of things around the house to keep our good health going strong. As soon as the car was cleaned out from the road trip, we moved on to the laundry. Two loads later, and all our trip clothes were washed!
